OCRemix is certainly a great site for any musically inclined gamer.
As for why retro games seem to grab the most attention.. I believe it has a lot do with where the site sprang from, an emulation site, the fact that rearranging a retro track is a lot easier because of its simplicity and simply nostalgia.
